The print belongs to the series of the ‘Motetti del Fiore’. The contents are reprinted from RISM B/I 1532/10 and 1532/11. A later edition of RISM B/I 1545/4.
‘Beati omnes qui timent’, ‘Panis quem ego dabo’ and ‘Laetetur omne seculum’ are attributed to Lupus (fl. 1518–30) by Harry Lincoln and in the RISM B/1 index, but are attributed instead to Lupus Hellinck in Grove.
Copy at K.2.d.19.(2.). Tenor part book only. This copy probably belonged to Michel Whiler, whose name is written on the title page of K.2.d.19.(1.). The initials M.W. are also engraved on the remains of an earlier binding, pasted inside the current binding. With the bookplate of W.H. Cummings. The print does not appear in the catalogue of the auction of Cummings’s collection held at Sotheby’s on 17-24 May 1917; the name ‘Geo Pearson’ is written on the last page of the part book.
